About
Shannon M.
is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS). Shannon is trained in vinyasa, yin, yoga nidra, mediation, restorative and holds-style yoga. She has also studied several topics in yoga philosophy. Shannon began her path towards becoming a yoga teacher while serving in the United States Army. Frustrated with her recovery from injuries and overall discontent with her mental health, she began to practice regularly at her home studio in North Carolina. A number of wonderful friends and mentors encouraged her to attend yoga teacher training and she completed her 200 hour training with Hot Asana Yoga University in March 2019. Since then she has taught in the studio setting, provided private sessions and in an online setting. She recently completed her 300 hour certification with Hot Asana Yoga University where she hopes to reach even more people. Shannon's vinyasa teaching style infuses physically demanding but simple vinyasa flow with modern music. She believes that anyone can practice yoga and we should make yoga as accessible as possible.
