Shannon Perkinson is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT with Yoga Alliance which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School RYS Though new to being an instructor since Shannon has been doing yoga for years She began yoga as a means to supplement her love for running Shannon has completed full marathons half marathons several k and k races sprint distance triathlon Olympic distance triathlon and Century mile bike ride Shannon also enjoys weight lifting hiking tennis and pickleball Shannon enjoys being active in general and being outside Shannon has a full-time professional background in working with the criminal justice system She is currently a Program Director for an opioid treatment program and is an intern working towards her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health with Liberty University Shannon also had a MBA and Bachelors of Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University Shannon plans to incorporate her yoga experience and instructor skills into therapeutic sessions with clients when she becomes eligible to providing professional counseling Shannon believes in a comprehensive holistic approach to wellness She plans to work with clients with a trauma-informed yoga approach in the future.
