Drawn to yoga by its meditative benefits I began my studies in yoga years ago It wasnt until about though that I began to delve into the practice Soon thereafter I craved more knowledge and wanted to go deeper After a home practice one day I noticed my infant son was drawn to yoga as well This led me to childrens yoga and thus began my journey with the Radiant Child Family Yoga program I then completed a Hour certificate with studies on yoga for the entire family This included teaching yoga to infants seniors and deeper training on yoga for children with ADD ADHD Autism SPD and other differently-abled children I then went on to complete training in YSR with Nikki Meyers and is a space holder and yoga instructor for the step recovery process I also completed a day pre/postnatal yoga teacher training with Leslie Lytle of Om Mama and Nurture Then I spent days with Judith Lasater in an intensive restorative yoga teacher training In March of Shannon started her hour Yoga training with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy program and finished with The Holistic Yoga Therapy Institute where I completed the training Now a C-IAYT Certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapy I enjoy teaching various Trauma Conscious Therapy classes to children adolescents and adults in various daycares schools colleges gyms studios and at events I won a full scholarship to the day Kripalu Yoga In the Schools training with a Harvard based and backed curriculum serving adolescents My most recent training was with Kriya Aqua Yoga where I learned to host therapeutic water yoga classes Serving as an ambassador for Project Yoga Richmond for years I taught at their studio at numerous events throughout the community and taught a weekly outreach class for teens with autism I also love teaching senior and chair yoga at area fitness clubs and retirement communities "Teaching these two age groups keeps me grounded with daily reminders of how simple things should be  To let go of judgement and just have fun in life! To be truly happy with where you are wherever that may be!" I continue to keep feeding my desire for learning through taking workshops trainings and always continuing to be a student of yoga.
