Shirley Smithson is a Registered Yoga Teacher ( ERYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).

She is also a certified prenatal teacher.  Shirley is certified in Children's Yoga CRYT and is director of a Yoga Alliance School of Children's Yoga offering Children's Yoga Certification.  She teaches children's yoga, prenatal, yoga for all levels, and is a 200 level teacher trainer at Front Range Community College school of Holistic Studies in Loveland, Colorado. Shirley is certified in prenatal yoga holding a RPYT designation.  She is also a member of IAYT for children's special population yoga. Shirley works in a variety of settings.  Children's workshops are offered through her company Just Imagine!! and take place in donated space.  Classes also take place at the University of Northern Colorado through the Gifted Studies department children's creative intensives. Adult studio workshops and teaching take place in Sacred Space Yoga, classes are also offered through the community recreation center, as well as privately. Student teacher training for Yoga Alliance Certification takes place through Front Range Community College in Northern Colorado.  Children's Yoga teacher training is offered at Sacred Space Yoga in Greeley, Colorado through her company Just Imagine.  Children's Yoga Teacher's Training specializes in customized programing for individuals and small groups.  Along with Yoga Alliance directed topics, a portion is given to what direction and application individuals desire to develop.  Timing and course evolution are designed together. Shirley has extensive background and a doctorate in working with children who have unique challenges, gifts and styles of learning. That knowledge is brought into the course and may be part of the individualized course offering. Shirley has course work and experience in bringing creative movement, improvisation and organic movement into both adult and children's work.  Her adult classes are focused on whole person balance and joy through gentle breath and flow.
