About
Yoga found me at a young age.
I remember doing yoga for the first time at home with my mother when I was in elementary school. Since then, it has continued to serve me in many ways throughout my life. As a young child, it was carefree movement, self-exploration, and community with others. In adolescence, it was strictly a physical practice based around strength and flexibility. However, through the years yoga inevitably transformed. In my early twenties it began to serve a higher purpose in my life. In time and with a broadened perspective, yoga blossomed into a spiritual experience. A discipline that it was always meant to be. It became a way of not only addressing trauma, neurological disorders, and chronic pain but a design for living that I couldn’t have comprehended in my youth. Yoga is vast and expansive. Limitless in breadth and depth. It is whatever you make of it. In 2021 I decided to expand my knowledge of yoga and all of its various facets by enrolling in the 200 HR Sakhi Yoga School Program. Originally, my intentions were purely to enhance and deepen my own physical and spiritual practice. But as the universe would have it, I was offered a teaching position before even completing my program in August 2022. I am currently officially registered as a 200 HR RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Alliance. Since that time, I have had the pleasure of teaching at various studios and styles of yoga. My own personal style is a direct reflection of my own mentors’, Pamela Meriweather and Tiffany Wilson, teachings. Both of which are descendants of the ancient Himalayan Yogi Masters. I am so very grateful to be one of their pupils and a part of their legendary community. The key components of my teachings are asana (the physical poses) with proper alignment and engagement, pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation. My classes tend to flow organically and slowly allowing students to experience the FULL aspects of a pose, reconnect with their mind and breath, and settle into and through the initial tensions of a physical practice. All of which can be accomplished whether the class is restorative, gentle, power, etc. In the future, I am enrolled to attend the 300 HR Sakhi Yoga School program beginning in 2024. I continue to learn, develop, and seek as a teacher and as a student. I hope to meet you on your own yoga mat and journey; and share the sacred teachings of yoga as they have been so graciously shared with me.
