Sissy St.

John is a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and has been a devoted student, teacher, and lover of yoga for well over two decades. She blends a variety of styles into her teaching, always encouraging students to listen inwardly so the practice can serve and support them—meeting them where they are, as they are, and helping to unite body, mind, and spirit.She teaches Gentle Flow, Yin, Therapeutic, Restorative, and Pre/Postnatal Yoga. Sissy also offers guided Meditation and weaves Pranayama techniques into her classes to help focus the mind and calm the nervous system.In addition to yoga, Sissy is a certified Clinical Aromatherapist and Reiki Master. These two holistic modalities complement each other beautifully, allowing her to share healing light and support on multiple levels.Currently, she runs her own online yoga business, hosting weekly virtual classes and working privately with clients—both in person and online.Her corporate clients (past and present), both live and virtual, include the American Museum of Natural History, JCC Manhattan, Columbia University, and Chubb.Sissy began her formal yoga training in Los Angeles with the original founders of YogaWorks, Maty Ezraty and Chuck Miller. Several years later, she moved to New York to study under Yogiraj Alan Finger, creator and founder of ISHTA Yoga.Her certifications include Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500, C-IAYT, YACEP, Pre & Postnatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yin Yoga. Prior to teaching yoga, Sissy was an ACE-certified personal trainer with a specialty in nutrition, working one-on-one with clients to design customized wellness programs.Sissy’s mission and soul’s calling are to spread peace and to help others create more space, ease, and harmony in body, mind, and heart—so they can meet life’s waves with greater equanimity.Beyond teaching yoga, she is passionate about formulating her aromatherapy products, painting with watercolors, cooking and baking, and exploring her interest in French and Japanese culture.
