Devotion and joy are two words that reflect my yoga teaching style.
I have a great deal of respect for the philosophy and wisdom found in classical yoga and balance my approach to my Vinyasa practice and classes with equal parts of playfulness, fluidity and introspection. A 200-hour Vinyasa Flow certified teacher, my yoga classes draw from a variety of other traditions as well, from restorative yoga, Kundalini yoga, Ayurveda and Reiki. My yoga classes infuse meditation, music, breath work, mantra and Reiki with a fluid and intentional flow. I'm fascinated by the depth of the breath and the infinite power that is unleashed when we learn to let our breath guide our movement. Stress, anxiety and tension relief are the core of my teaching. We take on so much during the day, yoga practice should be a sacred time to let it all wash away. I've been a yoga practitioner for the last twelve years and became a certified yoga teacher at Laughing Lotus Yoga in New York City in 2008. Sojourner Walker Williams is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.
