About
Susan is deeply committed to the practice of yoga, pranayama, and conscious living.
A Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher, she offers steady guidance and practical knowledge and infuses the deep wisdom of yoga philosophy into her teaching. Susan began her intensive study of yoga at the Kripalu Center in 2001, completing the 200 and 500 Hour Teacher Training at the Kripalu School of Yoga. As a teacher, Susan brings the meditative elements of Kripalu Yoga, inviting students to use the tools of yoga to explore their inner experiences and access deep layers of awareness. Her classes are designed to connect students deeply with the present moment through pranayama, postures, and exploration of subtle energy. Susan continues to deepen her study of yoga through the Kripalu Yoga 1000-Hour Teacher Training and her study of yoga philosophy, poetry, and Nature. Susan currently focuses on accessible practices such as restorative yoga, gentle Kripalu Yoga, meditation, and gentle flow practice. She also teaches specialty chair yoga for Seniors, including special populations. A former Developmental Specialist, she brings deep attention and support to private clients seeking deep restoration, recovery, and grounded one-on-one practice. Listen to Susan talk about yoga here. As the Founder and Director of Yoga to Grow, a yoga program for children that she began in 2007, Susan's deep understanding of a child's natural desire for exploration and movement is evident in her classes. With over 30 years of experience as an early childhood educator, she has honed her skills in teaching yoga through play and imagination to suit each child's developmental level. Stories, songs, and games help children explore simple relaxation and meditation exercises, making yoga a playful and enjoyable experience. Susan's expertise in this area reassures parents and educators about the quality of her children's yoga program. Susan is a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500), a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT), and a Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher. Susan is the owner and director of Yoga to Grow and alleyCat Yoga.
