I tried my first yoga class in at age A friend suggested it might be a way to still my overactive mind and struggles with anxiety It proved to be a great complement to my regular cardio and strength training routines When a developing illness and changing body prevented my doing regular workouts I turned more frequently to yoga Being on my yoga mat gave me the perfect combination of calm breath awareness and body movement When an opportunity to further my knowledge of yoga philosophy and its ancient roots became available I enrolled in yoga teacher training I became a RYT in September of I began offering free classes to military spouses once a week until CoVid prevented our in person meetings I have taught in studio classes since July of to the present as pandemic restrictions would allow I also began teaching the same group of military spouses via the Zoom platform in October of through the May of I hope to share the benefits of a consistent yoga practice with anyone and everyone curious to discover this wellness approach to living.
