About
Tanya Boigenzahn is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Tanya started practicing yoga since the early 90s and has been teaching since 1996. She has meditated since age 15, and has a daily practice. Tanya devotes her life to sharing the gifts of yoga, wellness and well-being with clarity, ease, and joy while keeping in mind the constant evolution of the soul. YOGA TEACHER TRAINING & BACKGROUND For over 20 years, Tanya has travelled and worked in a variety of foreign places from London to Wyoming to Portland to San Francisco, and has studied yoga with many respected teachers. In 2005 she met her teacher, Yogarupa Rod Stryker, and has been initiated into the 5000+ year old Himalayan tradition that includes the lineage of master teachers such as Swami Rama, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, and Bengali Baba. Rod’s style of yoga, known as ParaYoga, blends the three rivers of Tantra Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda and the Yoga Sutras into one comprehensive study. Through this wisdom, Tanya specializes in helping students create a holistic practice based on their physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual needs. She continues to study under Rod, Pandijit, Rolf Sovik, and many other teachers channeling the sacred tradition of yoga, tantra and meditation. She completed her 500 hour Yoga Alliance teaching credentials through ParaYoga® and is one of the only Level 2 Certified Teachers in the world, and the only one in MN. Her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training was completed in 2001 through the It’s Yoga Ashtanga Teacher Training Program in San Francisco with Larry Schultz. Tanya also has several teacher training certificates in Prenatal Yoga, plus a wide variety of other teacher trainings from many other recognized teachers including Dharma Mittra, Judith Lasater, Paul Grilley, Seane Corn, Tias Little, Indu Arora, James Bailey, Kathryn Templeton, David Swenson, Doug Swenson and more… As a Four Desires Certified Trainer, Tanya has been groovin' on the Four Desires process under her teacher, Yogarupa Rod Stryker, since 2006 and is honored to help spread these teachings. Deeply touched by the wealth of wisdom and clarity it brings, she offers this rich study in her Advanced 340hr Yoga Teacher Training as well as in weekend workshops, retreats and individual privates and small group sessions. Tanya blends her studies of Tantra Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Vinyasa Flow in each class. Focus is on aligning the physical with the subtle by using breath, awareness, alignment, and ancient yoga techniques including meditation, pranayama, kriya, bandha, chakra work, mudra, and mantra. She also strives to help students uncover their highest potential though tapas (purification & discipline), stiram (steadiness in body/mind) andsukham (maintaining a healthy sense of humor or ease during practice). In her private yoga sessions, her focus with students is to help them find their Sva Dharma, or (individual destiny) through use of Ayurvedic principles, Vinyasa Krama (proper sequencing), tapas (discipline), smarana (rememberance of the self) as well as mantra and meditation practices. She wishes to thank all of her teachers and mentors who have guided her on her path including Yogarupa Rod Stryker, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, James Bailey, Ajahn Pichest Boonethame, Julie Laurence, Carol Schoenecker, Jonas Westring, Jennifer Gray and Sigal Kemnitz. She currently teaches her classes, trainings and workshop at her yoga, bodywork and wellness school, Devanadi Yoga, located in the Linden Hills area of Minneapolis.
