About
I am an ERYT/RYT-500 level teacher and I am also registered as a C-IAYT with the IAYT organization.
I have taught Yoga and Meditation/Mindfulness for 23 years. I have been teaching at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for 19 years and I also have taught at Health Clubs such as Lakeshore Athletic Club and various corporate sites. *For job opportunities, please email me for my resume to see all of my training and experience. My extensive training and experience allow me to teach a wide variety of students and groups. I teach beginners to advanced students, and students needing a modified and specialized practice due to health issues. I have also taught Yoga Workshops. I tailor classes and private sessions to address students needs. Postures can be customized to address health ailments and issues such as: depression, anxiety, weight loss, high blood pressure, substance abuse, Cancer, Parkinson's disease, etc. I offer a holistic approach in my teaching addressing the mind, body, and spirit. I enjoy making the postures accessible to all students no matter what their physical challenges may be.Though I teach healthy alignment for the postures, I believe that the practice is not about doing "perfect" poses or what they look like. The postures should be adapted to the student and not the other way around. Life is a journey and so is the practice of Yoga. It gives one the opportunity to expand one's horizon of awareness and therefore, to see ourselves and Life anew, it offers the opportunity of self-acceptance and self-transformation.
