About
Teresa Bergen is a writer and yoga teacher.
She was first certified by Kathy Elder of Hawaii in 2003. Teresa taught extensively from 2003 until 2016 in gyms, studios and corporations around Portland, Oregon, and even did a guest teaching stint in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She specializes in slow flow and yin classes that welcome beginners. Since her travel writing career took off around 2017, she's taught sporadically. In 2024, feeling called back to more regular teaching, she took a 200-hour course with Yoga Renew as a refresher. She is now available for subbing in the Portland area and for teaching on retreats. Teresa is especially interested in working with students in long-term sobriety. She is the author of Meditations for Gym Yogis and writes the Sobriety in Flow column about yoga philosophy and addiction recovery for The Sober Curator, a leading sober living website.
