Two decades ago I attended my first yoga class at the local YMCA while my daughter was at basketball practice I was hooked and a teacher by profession I knew that some day I was going to teach yoga After retiring as a community college Spanish professor in I completed my -hour training with Pamela Higley Yoga in Tacoma WA I started teaching at the same YMCA where I took my first class I later completed my -hour training through Twist Yoga in Edmonds WA My certifications include Accessible Yoga with Jivana Heyman Love Your Brain Yoga for people with traumatic brain injury--with Kyla Pearce and Yin Yoga with Bernie Clark The emphasis of my teaching is on nurturing contemplative yoga for everyone I currently teach vinyasa power yoga and "yinstorative" for the YMCA and have been seriously studying Sanskrit since May of I also work as a medical interpreter.
