About
My first experience with yoga began years ago when my sister and I attended community classes at our local library for six years. After moving and starting a family, life became busy, leaving little time or energy for practice.
Still, yoga stayed with me—in fact, I used my yogic breathing to give birth to my first child naturally.Yoga found its way back to me in July 2024 when I began working at the front desk of Emerge Integrative Wellness. I immediately loved the environment and the people, and I sensed there was something more waiting for me there than simply answering phones. When the studio offered Reiki I, II, and III certifications, I jumped in wholeheartedly and earned my Reiki III Master Certification in December 2024.Yet my curiosity and passion only grew! Soon after, I enrolled in the studio's 200-hour yoga teacher training—a transformative experience that turned me inside out. Throughout the training, I spent countless hours not only studying asanas but also looking deeply within myself, discovering new layers of strength, vulnerability, and purpose. After completing over 200 hours of training, I continued my journey by joining the studio's mentorship program designed to refine my teaching style, sequencing, and hands-on adjustments.I teach chair yoga, adaptive yoga, vinyasa, and hatha, making movement accessible for everybody. I currently teach at Elevate Yoga in Massapequa, NY, Crunch Fitness, and the LIHR Club, where I share gentle movement, breath, and meditation to support wellness and mobility.Therese Montanile is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School RYS.
