About
Thomas Taubman is currently registered with Yoga Alliance as a RYT, which means that they completed their yoga teacher training at an active RYS Hello, I'm Thomas Taubman, and for the past thirty-five years, I've immersed myself in the world of teaching movement and yoga.
Throughout this journey, I've conducted over thirty-five two-hundred-hour training programs, along with numerous workshops and sessions across the globe for Yogaworks, U.C.L.A and various other studios including my own space in Culver City . My story begins in Staten Island, New York, where the constant motion of a big family—three brothers and one sister—surrounded me. Early on, movement became more than just a part of life; it evolved into a profound force that would shape my path in unexpected ways.During my childhood, sports were introduced as a means to expend youthful energy, a form of recreation. At the age of 26, I made a courageous decision to leave behind the familiar streets of Staten Island and embark on a new chapter in Los Angeles, California. Little did I know that this geographical shift would lead me to the next evolution in my exploration of movement—the discovery of yoga. Yoga, with its profound union of body and mind, became more than just a form of exercise; it evolved into a way of life. The serenity it brought to my existence was unparalleled. Intrigued and inspired, I took a significant step by enrolling in the Yogaworks Teacher Training program. Under the guidance of two trailblazers in the modern yoga world, Maty Ezraty and Lisa Walford, I delved deeper into the practice, solidifying my commitment to not only embody the teachings but also share the transformative power of yoga with others. As a yoga teacher, my approach centers around the precision of alignment and the importance of proper mechanics. Each of my classes is a carefully crafted blend of Yin and Yang elements, drawing from the rich tapestry of my background in both dance and boxing. This harmonious fusion aims to guide others toward a balanced and holistic experience—one that extends beyond the physical to encompass the mental and spiritual. In essence, my journey narrates a transformation—from a tumultuous past to a life guided by purpose and balance. Through the avenues of movement, boxing, dance, and yoga, I've not only discovered my own path to well-being but also strive to inspire others on their journeys of self-discovery and positive transformation. Looking back, it's a testament to the transformative power of movement and the resilience of the human spirit. No matter the challenges faced, it's possible to emerge from the storm stronger, wiser, and with a renewed sense of purpose. My story is not just a personal narrative but a testament to the universal truth that within movement, we can find not only physical strength but also profound peace and self-discovery. As for my teaching approach, it is adaptable and personalized, tailored to the unique needs of both individuals and communities. This flexibility ensures that I can provide the most effective strategies to promote well-being. My reputation stems from being not only highly knowledgeable but also remarkably engaging. I always bring a touch of humor and keen observation into my teaching, creating an atmosphere that’s simultaneously enjoyable, challenging, enlightening, and enriching. One of my most cherished accomplishments is being a father to two incredible daughters, Molly and Katelyn. Parenthood has taught me so much, and from my daughters, I continue to learn invaluable lessons each day. Professionally, I consider myself fortunate to be immersed in a field I’m passionate about. Assisting people on their wellness journeys is a privilege that I deeply value. My knowledge has been honed through immersive experiences with respected Physical Therapists, Spinal Biomechanics Including Stuart McGill and Gary Gray , Anatomists, and Sports Doctors. However, what truly sets me apart is my ability to connect with people on a personal level. We workout to work in - let the movement be medicine ! "Namaste from Tamaste"
