Tom Snyder is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT with Yoga Alliance which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School RYS Tom began his yoga journey in September with Clara Ross in Boise Idaho  Clara had studied yoga extensively in the s in India and he is eternally grateful to her He continued his yoga journey in Portland Oregon in the s with Julie Lawrence studying Iyengar style in addition to yoga classes at Portland State University and Portland Community College Through the s and early he studied at the Ann Arbor School of Yoga with Laurie Blakeney and the Center for Yoga in Seattle with Richard Schachtel; both teaching the Iyengar style He completed the Registered Yoga Teacher RYT hour training through YogaFit having taken courses throughout the Western United States RYT Number   He has received additional certification in teaching with the yoga wall He has been teaching yoga at YMCAs Banner Health Hospitals in the Phoenix Arizona area Portland Oregon and La Grande Oregon Toms life philosophy is to try to do something good something useful with his life  Sharing yoga to assist others to become more aware is integral to his philosophy while also integrating evidenced based scientific research that supports yoga Yoga is beneficial for health care workers as joy and meaning will be created when the healthcare workforce feels valued safe from harm and part of the solutions for change  Spiritual growth has part of the path having taken college courses in World Religions Philosophy of Religion Thomas Merton Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and Dietrich Bonhoeffer  His undergraduate degree is in nursing BSN from Oregon Health Sciences University with honors and graduate degree is in business MBA from the University of Portland  He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives and on the Board of Examiners for the Baldrige National Quality Award He is self employed as a Principal of AddPrana in Phoenix and is licensed in Arizona as a Registered Nurse RN  Education and continuing education regarding the latter included coursework which is relevant to yoga such as anatomy physiology psychology biochemistry cardiology etc He has been blessed to have the opportunity to travel internationally having spent numerous trips to Australia Europe India Nepal Thailand Vietnam Cambodia Singapore Russia and throughout the world.
