About
I dabbled in yoga from being in-utero, an inquisitive 7-year-old to a teenager looking for answers on going vegetarian, but when I was a woman in her 30’s struggling with the collapse of my first marriage while being a single working mother of 2 – I become hooked on yoga.
Hooked on how: soothing, releasing yet energizing it was. I hit the glass ceiling in the corporate law firm that I worked in Lusaka Zambia and realized I was never born to be corporate as I dreamt of starting my own businesses. This is how Kuthuta Yoga and Kutowa Designs were born – so I could live and earn my living doing what I was passionate about, yoga and fashion design. In 2009 I did my 1st YTT 200 in Cape Town, South Africa with Warren Munitz of The Center. For 11 years, 2009 to 2020, I taught yoga in Lusaka, teaching over 1000 students and probably over 7,000 hours of class. In 2014, I did an Advanced Yoga certificate at Yoga Vidya Gurukul (www.yogapoint.com) in Nashik, India. Then in February 2020, I followed my heart to move to Denver to marry the love of my life. Last year gave me the chance to rest from my hectic schedule of teaching up to 20 hours of yoga a week and rethink how I’d like to impact people’s lives with yoga. I redid my YTT200 to be registered with YA under the RYT200 certification and plotted on how to be an online yoga teacher. In December 2020, I launched the Kuthuta Yoga Online studio.
