About

With a background in nursing and martial arts, I “found” yoga in 2009, when I met Nancy Candea.

My 200 hour journey included working closely with Nancy Candea, Mary Taylor and Richard Freeman. After my 200 hour certification, I created All Around Yoga as a hub for the “Transitional Yoga Program”, which brings yoga to inmates in county jails. The program also offered the continued path of yoga through community classes and scholarships to 200 hour certification! I have run several 200 hour trainings in Colorado as a lead trainer for Yoga Impact RYS. I have published many self-interest articles on the benefits of yoga in Yoga Therapy Today. I also designed & completed a research study that explored the benefits of yoga in incarcerated women. This was a 5 year project that went through rigorous reviews from Institutional Review Boards (IRB) for approval. The research was recently published in the International Journal of Yoga Therapy (Jan. 2021) https://doi.org/10.17761/2021-D-19-00064 After completing my B.A. in psychology, I expanded my fitness knowledge through an AFAA certification and other Group Fitness trainings. In addition to teaching yoga classes, running 200-hour trainings, workshops & CEC courses, I am a District Group Exercise Manager at a Major Corporation. This position provides an insider view on what is important for fitness instructors of all types to develop, and I use this knowledge to bring well rounded and clear instruction in my classes and trainings. My goal is to contribute my knowledge, motivation and passion to help everyone find healthier lifestyles through breath and movement!
