About

I see yoga as a place for self-healing and wholeness.

I moved to Minneapolis after earning my MFA in Choreography from University of Iowa, and began teaching dance at St. Cloud State University. When stress and injuries started to hold me back, I would drop in to Ben Vincent’s yoga class, which put enough of a band-aid on things that I could keep going. After my daughter was born, I was eager to replace work-stress with Mom-stress, but found yoga to be a more necessary solace than before, to unwind the ropes of new responsibility and identity. To better understand health, happiness and well-being—both for me and my family—I began to study yoga and energy healing. I am a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner. I learned these energy management techniques to balance the energy field and chakras through Healing Beyond Borders, and therefore the healing components of my teaching are not derived from my status as an RYT through Yoga Alliance—though using a holistic approach to balance the energy body informs my teaching greatly. I earned my 500 RYT at Devanadi, so my teaching style is influenced by Rod Stryker’s ParaYoga and Tanya Bogenzhein’s unique blending of ancient yogic wisdom, energy healing and Ayurveda. In 2017, I completed a 9 month program of intensive Yoga Studies with Ben Vincent and continue to seek out his calm wisdom. I also undertook an amazing week-long anatomy intensive with Judith Lasater in 2019. Partnering with Shelley to create the Holistic Yoga Teacher Training and Personal Transformation program has been an amazingly fulfilling experience. As a teacher, I love to help people find tools to feel and live better—through breathing techniques, tapping into our own wisdom, smart alignment, and just changing our perspectives.
