I am Upasana Shakya, a certified yoga teacher (RYT 200, Yoga Bharati) based in Novi Michigan, with a year of hands-on experience conducting both in-person and online classes.
I specialize in guiding individuals across all ages groups- including children, adults, and senior citizens through mindful and energizing yoga sessions. I incorporate mindful movement, breath awareness, and gentle modifications to ensure safe and effective practice for everyone. Whether it’s helping seniors build mobility and balance, engaging children with playful and creative sequences, or supporting adults in deepening their practice, my focus is always on cultivating a welcoming, inclusive, and nurturing environment. My classes offer a well-rounded practice, typically beginning with a 50-minute dynamic flow of asanas to build strength, flexibility, and awareness, followed by calming relaxation techniques and a focused Pranayama (breath-work) session. Sessions may extend up to 70 minutes to allow a complete mind-body experience. I am committed to continuous learning and to creating classes that empower students to connect with their bodies, calm their minds, and embrace yoga as a lifelong journey.
