About
A Certified Fitness Professional since 1993 in consumer/corporate fitness, she holds a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, eRYT 500/YACEP, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP), SEI Training Assistant, SEI Beginning/Intermediate Personal Session Provider, ISMETA RSME/T, Trauma Recovery Coach, CIAR Group Fitness, Personal Trainer, and Health Promotion Director, RRCA Run Coach credentials.
She started teaching YogaFit yoga in 2002, and continues to experience her specialization of 4000+ experiential hrs. of yogic, and trauma focused somatic education/training in her private practice. She is dedicated to her passion and serves as the Founder & Executive Director of three health & wellness organizations The Grace Tree Foundation, Somatic Collective Yoga Therapy, and Full Potential Fitness & Running Specialists, grass root groups dedicated to delivering trauma awareness education, presentations, somatic movement groups, and private Neurosomatic facilitation to improve the quality of life for survivors, and their supporters. Viana holds a special dedication providing services to underserved, and marginalized populations who would otherwise not have access to therapeutic body-based somatic modalities. Her unique visionary talent, and ability has come from her own empowered personal experience from adverse childhood experiences that affected her adult life as a trauma and domestic violence survivor. Viana's education background in kinesiology and exercise science helps her develop evidence-based somatic programming according to community, and individual trauma survivors needs. Her invitation to find & experience the power in slowing down, and work from our personal intelligent body sensory abilities to find our 'present and wisdom space' within. When a person has experienced adverse life experiences, and practices movement from a rush standpoint, we lose a connection to our source rhythmic & flow felt-sense that is critical to our happiness and well-being. She emphasizes the importance of restoring ourselves in the present moment to be able to live an empowered and restored life, and positively affect our future generations vitality to transform their lives from trauma's adverse effects. Another important aspect is Viana's ability to teach and mentor those who work with trauma survivors by developing trauma focused training intensives to movement specialists, and community care providers. Viana nurtures a steady, consistent ever-evolving Neurosomatic movement practice environment, and works with her individual teachers, and mentors to share her love and passion of somatic movement to create safe spaces for self-exploration, illumination and inspiration.
