About
I was first introduced to yoga in childhood, by my father.
Time and time again I returned to the mat to help me cope with difficult periods in my life, and I renewed by practice after being diagnosed with cancer. Yoga became a complementary practice to help me regain physical function and feel empowered in my newly changed body. I later completed my yoga teacher training at a RYS. I am a registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) through Yoga Alliance, and also hold a Master of Education degree from the University of Toronto. What draws me to yoga are the physical postures (asanas), as well as the breathing practices, meditation and philosophy. There are aspects of yoga that are available to everyone, regardless of age, body type, gender or physical ability. My areas of specialty are: gentle and beginner yoga; yoga for active aging adults; restorative yoga and chair yoga. I look forward to working with you! Violet (she / her) www.violetgrofsics.com
