About
Azra Chughtai, RYT 200, is a registered yoga teacher and has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2006.
She discovered yoga while living in Europe in 2003. While walking down the street on a cold and rainy day, she was intrigued by a warm and inviting studio. The next day, she attended her first yoga class and fell in love with yoga. She loved the meditative state that yoga gave her and the calmness that it brought to her life. When she returned to the US, she earnestly began her practice of Hatha Yoga. Additionally, she exposed herself to many types of yoga practices –Power, Ashtanga, Pranayama, Flow, among others. After earning her yoga teaching certification from Many Hearts Yoga School, Azra attended a Yoga Experiential Anatomy and Basic Physiology course at University of California Irvine in 2007, to further understand body movement and alignment. Later, she took a Group Fitness Instructors Course at Georgetown University to improve upon giving group instruction. Azra comes from a varied sports background, understands the benefits of cross-training, and imparts in her practice the balance of mind, body and soul. With Azra’s quest for learning and passion for athletics, she brings a well-rounded and well-balanced practice to her students. Azra Chughtai is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
